The Balinese is actually a longhaired version of the Siamese cat. Their name, Balinese, came about by a breeder who felt that the cats moved with grace & elegance the way the Balinese dancers do. Balinese have a slim body shape and should always have blue eyes. Most common coat colouring is lilac, chocolate, seal and blue. Generally red, tortie and lynx point are considered as the Javanese breed. The Balinese coat is not overly thick for a longhaired breed whilst being soft to touch. The Balinese is a active, intelligent breed of cat that is very much suited to indoor life.
