The Javanese cat is derived from the Siamese cat and gets its name from the south-east Asian island of Java. They have a long, smooth coat that varies in colour and similar in style to the Balinese cat. Javanese are often called colourpoint cats, as they have odd coloured coats as well as tabby and tortie patterns. The Javanese body is similar to the Siamese though with a much thicker, longer coat. The Javanese is highly intelligent and affectionate, making them great companion pets as they crave attention.
