Developed in Turkey where the Anatolian Shepherd Dog is commonly known as "Karabash". Thisdog breed was bred to protect a farmers herd from rogue wolves. The Anatolian Shepherd Dogs coat is short, thick and easy to groom. The most common colour is a tan/red with a black muzzle and ears. This massive dog requires a lot of exercise and as such eats a lot of food. The Anatolian Shepherd Dog is not for the faint hearted or for people unfamiliar with dogs as they can be independent and owners must remember that their instinct in life is to guard.
