The Borzoi is a breed of dog that originates from Russia. The Borzoi's name derives from the Russian word Borzaya, meaning “quick dog”. Borzoi's were originally bred for hunting wolves and so are capable of running at remarkable speeds whilst possessing a pair of impressive jaws. This dogs coat comes in different colours from gold, tan, grey, white or a mixture of these colours. Borzoi's have long coats, which are flat and silky and often curly or wavy. These dogs are not for the novel dog owner.
