Also known as the British Bulldog, the Bulldog is one of the most recognisable dog breeds in the world. Bulldogs have a short, smooth coat in a range of colours though mostly white and brindle. Due to their compact, stocky build and short muzzle, the Bulldog should not be exercised during the heat of the day. Originally bred for bull and bear baiting, the ferocity has been bred out of the Bulldog by crossing it with Pug dogs to create a shorter, wider version of the old breed. The Bulldog is affectionate and can often be referred to as a couch potato. Grooming is quick and easy due to their short coat.
