The Estrela Mountain Dog was developed in the mountains of Portugal. This large dog breed has a medium to long haired coat found in brindle, grey or fawn with a dark face. Due to the sheer size of the Estrela Mountain Dog it needs plenty of open space for exercise and as such is not suited to city living. Being a loyal breed of dog and generally friendly to those known to them, the Estrela Mountain Dog also is alert and dependable as a guard dog.
