Water Spaniels have been known in Ireland for in excess of 1000 years. The Irish Water Spaniels were bred from Poodles and Curly-Coated Retrievers. Their liver coloured coat is made up entirely of dense tight ringlets, except for the muzzle and tail. Grooming Irish Water Spaniels requires skill as it must be done at least once a week and include brushing and trimming with the correct technique. This dogs character is intelligent and loving.
