The Komondor was originally bred to guard herds in its native Hungary. Similar to the Hungarian Puli, the Komondor also has a matted coat that resembles the human equivalent of dreadlocks. Coat colour is always white which tends to make grooming difficult as the nature of the Komondor's coat does not make it easy to clean. This breed of dog is best suited to farm life as it has alot of energy and is a large breed of about 50kg. They are wary of strangers and combined with the Komondor's sheer size make a very effective guard dog.
