Originating in Norway, the Norwegian Lundehund was originally used to hunt puffins. They have developed the ability to climb and evolution has given the Norwegian Lundehund dog six toes on each of their feet, with the feet turned slightly outwards, thought to help the breed climb cliffs to raid the puffin nests for their eggs. Lunde means puffin and hund means dog.
