Originating from Canada, the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever was bred to hunt water fowl and ducks. Their feet are well adapted to the water with webbing between the toes. The dogs job is to thrash about at the waters edge to attract the attention of water fowl, a task known as tolling. The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever's coat is red with white markings on the chest and feet and sometimes the tip of the tail. They are relatively easy to train and make a good family pet.
