Bred in Germany the Pinscher was originally developed for fighting, guarding and hunting rats on farms. They are halfway between a Miniature Pinscher and the Dobermann Pinscher. They sport a short, thick coat coming in red, fawn, blue or black / tan combination colouring. Grooming the Pinscher is relatively easy as a regular brush generally keeping the coat in order. The Pinschers intelligence, alertness and loyalty makes them a good family watch dog.
