The Pyrenean Sheepdog is also known as the Pyrenean Shepherd and is native to the Pyrenees mountains in Southern France. The Pyrenean Sheepdog was bred to herd livestock in medieval times whilst the Pyrenean Mountain Dog guarded the flock. They have a long, wavy, thick coat that comes in many colours from black, white, fawn or grey. Don't be fooled by the Pyrenean Sheepdog's small stature as they posses alot of energy and can be very playful. Grooming is minimal, generally a weekly brush should keep the coat in order.
