Believed to have originated in Greenland, the Labrador Retriever is one of the most common pet dogs in the world. Their coat is short and hard with mainly yellow or black in colour and the occasional brown. Labrador Retriever's have a broad head on a solid body. This dog breed is commonly used to assist the blind and to also to detect drugs and explosives. Labrador Retriever's can consume large quantities of food and so need to be rationed and watched to avoid putting on weight.
